Well, we have started to get our first real cold snap of the season. Yesterday morning it got down to 26.1 degrees F. This morning it got down to 24.4 def. F. It is supposed to get even colder this weekend. Dean Dollin says that there could be some snow Sunday or Monday, but nothing significant. We will see. I am going to put out the snow board on Friday in case we get some.

Well, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I had a quiet one.
The weather over the holiday was pretty mild. Other than .87 inches of rain, it was quiet. The week ahead is supposed to be fairly nice for this time of the year with some sun breaks at times. The temps are supposed to be dropping down into the mid to lower 30′s overnight.

There is a high wind warning watch in effect for Napavine. See www.napavineweather.info/wxadvisory.php for the full details of the warning watch. We could have wind gusts as high as 60 mph and sustained winds between 35 and 45 mph. You will be able to see the current wind conditions on the homepage of the website. The low pressure system passed farther south than originally forecast. As a result, the warning was canceled and an watch was issued instead.

Well, it looks like most of the really heavy wind and rain went to the north of us. We still managed to get some gusts up to 32 mph. So far this month we have had 8.31 inches of rain and 14 rain days. Looking back to 2006 when I started collecting weather data in Napavine, we had 25 rain days in November for 17.64 inches of rain. Hopefully we won’t get that much rain.
The storms have given us a little break today, with another one coming in tonight. It is probably going to effect mostly north of us.
One last note, GO TIGERS! Napavine is going to face off against their rivals, the Adna Pirates, for a chance to go to the state championships. It should be a really great game.

Well, we had a brief break in the rain today and even had a bit of sun here and there. So far, since the 5th of November, we have had 3.34 inches of rain. That isn’t as much as other areas south of us. I suspect that because the storms were coming at us from the South-West that most of the energy from them was spent on the other side of the hills.
The forecast is calling for more rain tonight and tomorrow and then rain likeley for the rest of the week. Stay tuned to www.napavineweather.info for the latest forecast, radar, and advisories.

Well, most of the thunderstorms skirted to the south of us today. We did manage to get .74 in of rain today so far with a few heavy downpours. The NWS was calling for thunderstorms tonight, but I doubt we will have any. Probably a few scattered showers left for tonight.
I updated the main page on the website with an alternate “dashboard”. Let me know how you like it.

Well, it looks like our first November storm is on its way. There is expected to be winds from 18 to 21 MPH here in Napavine. They are starting to pick up right now with our highest gust at 10 MPH so far. Maybe it will skirt us like the last storms. We will see.

Well, it looks like we are going to have a foggy start to November. This AM was quite foggy, enough for NWS to issue a Fog Advisory for the I5 corridor. The next few mornings are expected to be close to the same. Drive safely!

I have installed a new Weather Advisory script provided by “curly” in the Weather-Display forum. This allows me to check several different “Zones” for watches and warnings and have them displayed on the website!

Well, the day is starting out foggy, but not quite as bad as it was Tuesday. Are we going to have some sun before the next rain hits? Well, it looks like it for part of the day. Then the rain is expected to settle in this afternoon or evening.
Last night we were at my son’s soccer game and got drenched. We were all soaked. Luckily they started the game early and by the time it was over, the rain stopped. Go figure!
